Neurosurgery Specialist

Prim. Mersad Baručija, MD is a neurosurgery specialist, head of the department of Paediatric Neurosurgery, with long-standing experience across all areas of neurosurgery. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo in 2004, and completed his neurosurgery residency at the KCUS Clinic for Neurosurgery, where he has been a neurosurgery specialist since 2011. His extensive clinical and operative experience is particularly focused on spinal, oncological and paediatric neurosurgery. He serves as a practising expert at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo. His particular area of expertise is complex spinal neurosurgery, with extensive experience performing complex operative procedures on the spinal column and spinal cord. He pursued professional development through training and clinical placements at renowned medical centres in Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Turkey and China. He has participated in numerous national and international professional conferences, and is the author and co-author of several professional and scientific papers in neurosurgery.
